Hi to All!
I just had the best time out at Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, CT. I was doing the show MID-LIFE: THE CRISIS MUSICAL. The book, music and lyrics are by Bob and Jim Walton. And I have to say it was one of the funniest shows I've ever done. I was joined by a very talented cast under the clever direction of Semina De Laurentis. Finally I was in a show close to home where more of my family could come see me.
Last year, right before Christmas, I did a workshop of a new musical called A CHRISTMAS STORY. It starred Beau Bridges and was based on the 1983 movie of the same name. It's the one where Ralphie wants a BB gun for Christmas. It featured some Broadway regulars such as Gregg Edelman, Liz Larson, Annie Golden and Dalton Harrod as Ralphie. Scott Davenport Richards came up with some of the best music and lyrics I've heard in a long while and Eric Rosen pulled it all together with his amazing direction. It's going to be done this winter at Kansas City Rep and I hope to be a part of it again.
Coming up this fall - I was just asked by the President of The Gold Star Mothers, Ruth Stonesifer, to sing at their big weekend ceremony in Washington, DC on September 26th and 27th. Gold Star Mothers are women who have lost a son or daughter in the war. Which unfortunately is happening all too often. It's been my honor to sing for this group and the veterans group, Rolling Thunder whenever I get the chance. Many top political officials will be attending. I'm really excited.
